Carnival #9

The Carnival of the Vanities, featuring the self-selected best o’ the Blogosphere, is up! Go check it out.

Trading Blogs?

Lair is bantering about the idea of Blogs, a concept similar to the “Trading Spaces” show on TLC. I like it — can I trade with Glenn?

Save Us, Jane!

Despairing that the Department of State is full of idiotarian appeasement monkeys? The good news: Galt has been accepted into the Foreign Service! The bad news: that means she’s not allowed to write on foreign affairs anymore. And oh yeah — she’s resdesigned her site. Spiffy.

Don’t Rule That Out

Andrew Sullivan up the “Unabomber-style rhetoric” of Iraq’s letter “accepting” the U.N. resolution:
“If you got a letter like this in the mail, you’d call the cops.”
Full text of the letter is here.

The Chris & Andy Show!

It’s the Chris and Andy show! Hitchens and Sullivan were on C-SPAN this morning, which is always entertaining, as neither of them are morning people. Click to view them in all their glorious disheveledness.

Go Cheer Up Meryl

Meryl is not having a good week. She’s ill with some nastiness that has left her speechless — literally — and now she’s been from voting by the incompetence of the Virginia DMV. So go visit her and bump up her traffic stats to make her feel better.

Lileks Speaks!

Lileks speaks! Like, out loud and everything. You can hear him pontificating on the Minnesota election results on this edition of To The Point from KCRW radio. Our boy shows up a little over twenty-one minutes in.

Kaus on KCRW

Curious to hear the dulcet tones of your favorite pro-blogger / Microsoft sellout? Tune in to To The Point from KCRW radio and you can hear Mickey discuss his 50-50 Nation theory…

Lair and Card

Gotcha! I caught Lair Simon being serious again. And as usual when does so, he demonstrates he’s not such a nit after all. This time, he’s the concept of “not speaking ill of the dead”. Personally, I think Orson Scott Card had the right idea.

Martin on Militants

Martin Patio Pundit’s editorial policy on “militants”, and surprise surprise, it’s a lot clearer than those of most Big Media outlets.
